English: Cawston Water Tower This disused water tower - a Grade II listed building and the only ten-sided water tower in the country - is located in a woodland north of the B1145 that connects Aylsham with Cawston. Presently the tower is being converted into a two-bedroom house (with the top floor to sit within the original tank) by architect Elspeth Beard, who was the first British woman to circumnavigate the world by motorcycle in the early 1980s. http://www.elspethbeardarchitects.co.uk/projects/cawstonwatertower.html
The following comment was provided by an anonymous site visitor: "Elspeth Beard has nothing to do with this tower, regardless of what her website says. This tower has been featured on TV in C5 'Build A New Life In The Country'. Conversion was by owner (an engineer) and the architect was John Bennett of Southwold. Owner is a member of BWTAS who has opened the tower to members. www.bwtas.blogspot.com " Followed by yet another comment by another anonymous site visitor: "Actually Elspeth Beard did work on this water tower, securing the planning and building regulation consents. see http://www.elspethbeardarchitects.co.uk/ . After this the tower was sold on and she was not involved in the 'build' stage of this Tower."
