English: In the interior part it has two hills that they represent to the place where these existed, called the Playón, which they eliminated in the earthquake of 1818 provoked by the volcano Santa Maria (located in the Republic of Guatemala) and that gave place to the current riverbed of the Rio Palisade. Likewise, are observed two palms that reflect abundance of this species in the hills. It appreciates also a river that represents a riverbed that was happening previously at the foot of the hills. (This description is of the first shield which is not used in the current administration of the Municipal Government)
Español: En la parte interior tiene dos cerros que representan al lugar donde existían estos, llamado el Playón, que desaparecieron en el terremoto de 1818 provocado por el volcán Santa María (localizada en la República de Guatemala) y que dio lugar al actual cauce del Río Palizada. Asimismo, se observan dos palmeras que reflejan abundancia de esta especie en los cerros. Se aprecia también un río que representa un cauce que pasaba anteriormente al pie de los cerros. (Esta descripción es del primer escudo el cual no se usa en la administracion actual del Gobierno Municipal)
