Deutsch: Das Wappen symbolisiert die Lage Grub am Forstes; der Ort liegt zwischen zwei Hügeln. Die Symbole entstammen einem Siegel aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Sie stehen redend für den Ortsnamen. Die Farben weisen auf die frühere Zugehörigkeit zum Herzogtum Sachsen-Coburg hin.
English: The arms symbolise the location of the village between two hills; the symbols are derived from a seal of the 17. century. The arms are canting (Grub - means "Grube" in German and symbolises the location in a valley - the abbie symbolises the forest "Forst". The colours are derived from the arms of the duchy of Saxe-Coburg.
