Biografia aldatu
New Yorken jaio zen, Reather Rhames etxekoandrearen eta Ernest Rhames auto-mekanikoaren semea. Haren gurasoak apartzeroak izan ziren Hego Carolinan. NBCn ibilbide luze eta oparoa izandako Irving R. Levine kazetariaren ohoretan izendatu zuten semea. Irving Rhames Harlemen hazi zen.
New Yorkeko Arte Eszenikoen Eskolan sartu zen, eta bertan antzerkiarenganako zaletasuna deskubritu zuen. Bigarren hezkuntzaren ondoren, antzerkia ikasi zuen SUNY Purchase-n.
