Goethe Institutua (alemanez Goethe-Institut) herrialde germaniarretik kanpo alemaniera eta kultura alemaniarra sustatzeko helburua duen erakundea da. Bere zeregin nagusia alemaniera bigarren hizkuntza bezala irakastea da. Institutuaren bigarren helburua Alemaniaren harreman kulturalak indartzea da.

Historia aldatu

1925an sortu zen Deutsche Akademie bezala (DA) eta egun ordezkaritzak munduan zehar dauzka, 16 Alemanian eta 128 beste 77 herrialdetan. 2001an Inter Nationes erakundearekin eta Goethe-Institut Inter Nationes izena hartu zuen, geroago izen zaharra berreskuratzen.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe poeta alemaniarren ohorean izendatu zen.

Alemaniako gobernuak finantzatzen du gehienbat eta 278 milioko aurrekontua dauka, erdia baino gehiago ikasleak ordaintzen duten azterketa eta ikasketen bidez. 3.300 langile dauzka eta Munichen dago bere egoitza nagusia.
