Lambetheko Arte Eskolan ikasi zuen eta 1892an berriemaile eta ilustratzaile lanetan hasi zen ''Westminster Budget''en. 1893an argitaratu zituen bere lehen liburu-ilustrazioak. Berritzailea izan zen arkatzaren eta tintaren erabilera akuarelekin konbinatuz. Koloretako ''[[Rip Van Winkle]]'' liburuko ilustrazioak mugarri izan ziren koloreen bidez bereizitako inprimatze-sistemaren ondorioz. Bere lanik ezagunenak ''[[Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens]]'' liburukoak dira.
