Minsken lehenbiziko erreferentziak [[XI. mende]]koak dira ([[1067]]), [[Polotskeko printzerria]]ren barnean zegoela. [[1326]]an [[Lituaniako Dukerri Handia]]n sartu zen. [[1499]]an hiri pribilegioa jaso zuen. [[1569]]an Minskeko [[Voivodia]]ko hiriburu bilakatu zen, [[Poloniar-Lituaniar Erkidegoa]]ren barnean. 1793an [[Errusia]]k bereganatu zuen. [[1919]] eta [[1991]] artean Minsk [[Bielorrusiako Sobietar Errepublika Sozialista]]ko hiriburua izan zen. 1991tik Bielorrusia herrialde independientearen hiriburua da.
