The Flaming Lips 1983an Oklahoman eratu zen rock musika taldea da. Konponketa landu eta psikodelikoek, letra arraro samarrek eta kantuei ezarritako izenburu bitxiek taldearen estiloa ezaugarritu dute. Bereziak oso ere emandako kontzertuak: mozorrotuta agertu ohi dira, bideo emankizunez osatuak dira eta antzerkiari bide ematen diote. 80ko hamarkadan eta 90ekoaren hasieran Restless Records diskoetxe txikiarekin jardun zuten, eta 1995ean Clouds Taste Metallic diskoak nolabaiteko arrakasta lortu zuen, tartean She Don't Use Jelly kanta. Kritikaren erabateko onespena izan dute kaleratutako lanekiko. Harrera hobea izan dute Europan Ameriketako Estatuetan baino.
