Howard Fast

Howard Melvin Fast (New York, 1914ko azaroaren 11 – Greenwich, Connecticut, 2003ko martxoaren 12a) estatubatuar eleberrigilea izan zen. New Yorken jaio zen jatorri juduko familia batean, eta gaztetan hasi zen idazten, herrialdean zehar lan bila zebilela. Bigarren Mundu Gerran, Gerrako Informazio-Bulegorako lan egin zuen eta Voice of Americarako idatzi zuen. 1943an alderdi komunistarekin bat egin zuen eta 1950ean hiru hilabeteko kartzela-zigorra ezarri zioten eta zerrenda beltzean sartu zuten. Kartzelan idatzi zuen bere lanik ospetsuena, Spartacus. Blue Heron Press sortu zuen bere eleberriak argitaratu ahal izateko. Daily Worker alderdi komunistaren egunkarirako lan egin zuen, eta 1956an alderdi komunistarekin hautsi zuen.
